9th CBCE to take place at the end of April

Shanghai | The 9th Craft Beer China Conference & Exhibition (CBCE 2024) will be held in halls W1 and W2 of the Shanghai New International Expo Center from 25–27 April 2024, on an exhibition area of 18,000 square meters. Co-hosted by NürnbergMesse China and BeerLink, the CBCE is an authoritative international event for the craft beer industry in Asia.

CBCE 2024 aims at bringing together global craft beer brands and experts on site, and creating an immersive exhibition experience through competitions, forums, and market events. This year, five distinctive exhibition areas will be opened, with a focus on equipment and raw materials in Hall W1 and a focus on craft beer brands in Hall W2. Together with many leading exhibitors from all areas of the industry, this will offer craft brewers more opportunities in terms of products, processes and efficiency.

CBCE Technology Conference

As one of the major events in the field of craft beer in Asia, the CBCE Technology Conference will also be held at the end of the exhibition, from 27–28 April. The conference is co-organized by CBCE and EBC, supported by Jiangnan University-School of Bioengineering and ZW-Lab International Brewing Academy. The theme of this year’s conference is “Focusing on Brewing Innovation and Looking Forward to a New Era of Craft Brewing”.

Representatives from industry, academies and institutions will engage in dialogue and exchange on cutting-edge international brewing technologies and innovative achievements, with the aim of promoting innovation, efficiency enhancement, and sustainable development of the domestic beer industry. The speakers of the conference are technical experts invited from top brewing academies and top brand companies around the world. The conference is expected to have over 300 participants, mainly from R&D or technical departments of large and medium-sized breweries and craft breweries.

CBCE Commercial Conference

Looking back at 2023, the craft brewing market is still under tremendous pressure from economic downturn. In view of the rapidly changing market, the craft beer industry faces questions like how to leverage new media platforms like Xiaohongshu and Meituan; whether relying solely on store sales still balances operating costs; and how to reduce costs and increase efficiency, all of which will be covered by the CBCE Commercial Conference.

Starting from the perspectives of strategy and trends or platform, channel and innovation empowerment, it will explore new paths and business opportunities for the Asian craft beer market. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the latest industry trends and developments worldwide, providing reference for their brand development and business decisions.

Tasting events

CBCE will also host tasting events for the two major European competitions “Brussels Beer Challenge(BBC)” and “European Beer Star (EBS)” on site, where visitors will have the opportunity to taste high-quality craft beer from around the world and explore different styles and flavors of beer.

There will also be CBCE online exhibitions and live interviews on site, among many other interesting events such as the exhibitor demonstration forum, book promotion meetings, a craft beer banquet etc.
