Before the Quality Seal can be awarded, Slow Brewing not only evaluates the beer according to its strict quality standards, but the brewery producing the beers must also obtain certification from Slow Brewing. This stringent, comprehensive concept is the only one of its kind on the international beer market.

HOW THE EVALUATION WORKS: The sensory evaluation for judging the quality of the beer is performed monthly by the renowned Weihenstephan Research Center. The quality of the raw materials and the soundness of the brewing methods as well as the overall corporate culture and management practices are subject to certification. The stringent assessment covers more than 600 questions defined by the independent experts at the Slow Brewing Institute.

EXCEPTIONAL FLAVOR: Slow Brewed beers possess an especially well-rounded and mellow flavor due to their slow fermentation and long, gentle maturation, the purest raw materials and the conscious abstention from dilution downstream (high gravity brewing).

Fewer fusel alcohols, for example, arise with the gradual, meticulous brewing methods employed to produce Slow Brewed beers, compared to the accelerated production methods often utilized in industrial mass production.
